Crayon Club 

Crayon Club is a community of artists who meet at different locations in NYC, draw from life, and share their work. Our events include urban sketching sessions, day workshops, and group happy hours. Most of these are free, and all are open to artists of all skill levels.

There are no formal requirements to participate; however, we kindly ask that you RSVP for any events you wish to join so we can communicate updates to the right people and anticipate attendance. As you complete registration, you will have the option to stay posted on upcoming meetups through a weekly email newsletter.

Our most common meetups are on-location drawing sessions, which take place at different landmarks in NYC. Typically, we draw for an hour, break to share our sketchbooks, and then repeat the process once more. These meetups are free and open to everyone, so you're welcome to come and go as you please; however, we ask that you RSVP in advance so we can communicate updates. Our monthly happy hours at Recess Grove are great opportunities to meet fellow artists and share inspiration. Please bring a sketchbook. Please bring your own drawing materials, as there are no items available to borrow on location. Also consider the outdoor conditions while packing, as a portable stool, sweater, sunscreen, hat, etc., can make a big difference depending on the weather. You are solely responsible for any mess or paint stains, so please be considerate of the surroundings and clean up your workspace before leaving.
